No tracking, no cookies
This site and Mill Street use no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind, and set no cookies. Nobody here knows who visits, and that is a choice.
Messages you send
When you write through the contact form, here or on the Mill Street pages, your name, email address and message are sent by email to Darren, so that he can read it and write back. They are used for nothing else, never shared and never added to a mailing list.
The email also shows the internet address your message was sent from. To keep out automated spam, the server keeps a scrambled form of that address for up to one day, only to count how many messages are sent, and notes for two hours that the form's one-time code has been used. Neither holds your name, email address or message.
Messages stay in his mailbox. If you would like yours deleted, ask through the contact form and it will be deleted.
The legal basis is your own request to be answered (GDPR article 6, 1 b) and a legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam (GDPR article 6, 1 f).
What this site keeps on your device
The site remembers a few small things in your own browser's storage, on your device only.
- The language you chose.
- How far down the page you got, so the guide can offer to take you back there.
- Which of the guide's offers you said no to, so he does not ask again.
- For this visit only, whether you have seen the guide walk in, and which offers he has already made.
None of it is sent anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Mill Street
The game remembers a few things the same way, on your device only, so you can carry on where you left off. The keepsakes in your satchel, your circus tickets and whether you have seen the ending, your sound and graphics settings, whether you have watched the introduction, and where you last got out of a taxi.
The Post Office inside Mill Street works like the contact form. Your letter, and your name if you give one, are sent by email to Darren, and nothing is stored on the server. No email address is asked for, so he can only reply if you include one yourself.
Things that come from other companies
The typefaces on this site and on the Mill Street pages are served from dwinnovation.dk itself, so no font service learns that you were here.
The film in the worlds section, and the films on the screens inside Mill Street, play from YouTube's privacy-enhanced service, and only once you press play or go in to watch one. From then on YouTube's privacy policy applies to that film.
The web host
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs, such as the address a request came from and when, to keep the service secure. They are not used to follow visitors.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what is held about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Ask through the contact form. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.
